To be a Bahá’í simply means to love all the world; to love humanity and try to serve it; to work for universal peace and universal brotherhood. - Abdu'l-Bahá
A person becomes a Bahá’í by recognizing Bahá’u’lláh as the Messenger of God for this age, committing to strive to abide by His laws and guidance, and informing the Bahá’í community of this by applying for membership. It can be the result of an emotional response, such as the powerful feeling of attraction, or a more systemetic intellectual process where one's questions are answered one by one. Sometimes this process takes a considerable period of learning, participation in Bahá’í activities and reflection of weeks, months, sometimes years. Or it can take place in a moment when one hears of the Faith and its spirit and teachings touch the heart.
